Putin: The role of cruise missiles is getting bigger and bigger, and the Russian army must be fully equipped
Russian Satellite News Agency reported on the 27th that Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that Analysis of military conflicts shows that cruise missiles are playing an increasingly important role and that the Russian army should be equipped with such weapons. He also discussed Russia’s “Kalibr” cruise missiles and other high-precision strike weapons: unique in performance, surpassing similar equipment in other countries.
According to the report, Putin said at a meeting with the leadership of the Russian Ministry of Defense and representatives of the defense industry system: “Analysis of military conflicts in recent decades and the development experience of the world’s leading military have shown that various cruise missiles and guided munitions are effective. Utilization is playing an increasing role.”
Putin pointed out that the Russian army and navy need to be fully equipped with such modern high-precision weapons. “Now, the (Russian army) forces already have and are receiving the latest Х-101 and caliber long-range cruise missiles,’ Iskander’ battle tactical missiles, multiple rocket launchers, and various guided bombs.”
Putin further stated that in terms of performance, they are not only not inferior but also “often surpass foreign products” and are unique in a series of indicators.
